what else do you want us to say?

1. be sure he's really 3 betting light
2. try to have outs

its up to you to decide on his 3betting, cbetting, and folding/calling ranges, and obviously you want equity if behind

it's not as bad as some people are going to say it is as his calling range is pretty narrow.

hate doing it with so little equity though

agree, if you call a light 3bet... light, you have to be willing to make a move sometimes; or you can always 4bet.

Re: you ever try [censored] like this when you think youre gettin 3b l

risk 85 to win 49=need 63% equity

aa, kk, ak, aqss, ajss = 20 combinations (edit: i have 6.0% equity versus this range.)
aq, aj, 99-qq = 46 combinations

thus, he folds 69.7% of the time, even using this smaller range. its profitable even without including that we can win this pot if he calls. (edit: we have 1.8% suckout equity and 71.5% total equity.) even though i didnt have much equity if im called, i figured that this would be the perfect flop for a shove.

lets say the flop was qt5ds. do you shove? the flop hits a ton of hands in his range, but you have better equity.
on that flop, using the same range, lets say we get called by aq+ aks ajs aa, kk, qq, tt. there are 29 combinations of this. we have 20.6% equity versus this range. there are 34 combinations that he folds.

math:
he folds 54.0% of the time. he calls 46% of the time with when we have 20.6% equity = 9.5%

54+9.5=63.5
so example 2 is slightly +ev, and my hand is more +ev.

this is the first math post ive done, and prob my last so tell me if i screwed something up

It looks like you've picked a calling range to suit what you wanted to do, not what he likely has.

He could have KQ/KJ/KT here (you said he was 3betting light), he could have 66/77/67s. He could decide not to fold QQ/JJ because it's a drawy flop and he just doesn't feel like folding. I really don't think you're getting him to fold 69% of the time or anywhere close to it.

if he has hands like that and calls with then it also expands the number of hands that hes folding

if you feel like coming up with your own range and doing the math, feel free

edit: to further explain, i picked a tight range to err on the side of caution
