Related question from a tournament newbie.

Is there an advantage to paying for two or five buyins and getting two or five times as many chips? This seems -EV to me. I remember reading something about each successive tournament chip being worth less than the previous one.

If I'm right and it's -EV then what's the BFD about chip dumping?
