No clue why. Some other really popular web forum was blocked as well.. I forget the name now.

Wikipedia was blocked in China last time I was there. Pretty gay IMO.

b/c everyone loves negreanu and greenstein is totally in with the asians.

jk about that of course but you do make a good point. gambling is a huge part of many asian cultures. japan may be a better bet. wasn't there just a big tourney somewhere in asia?
