10NL is funny because everyone seems to have a little random number generator in their head determining what sort play they're going to make next. So much donk betting, I really can't deal with that [censored].

The Greatest uNL player known to man!!!

Arright guys, here is a phenom that I played with, all at NL30(deep):

http://aycu13.webshots.com/image/356...5471614_rs.jpg

After concluding that he was the best player I have ever played with (besides greenplastic, muddy water, phil hellmuth, traheho and antonio)

Somoene told me he used to play NL400 or 200 or 600 or something.

Notes:
1. I had a nice suckout vs him here for maybe a 180$ pot
2. I coolered him really hard with an overset. Prolly for a 140$, IDK.

Take those two pots away, and he had virtually no (significant) lost pots. I'd like to say, the reason I think his rate is sustainable is b/c of the upward trend you see in the graph. Its as if he dosent need cards. He just knows the level well enough that he wins money at will. Picking up blinds, squeezing, making good reads, etc... I'm guessing if the graph was 100k hands it'd look the same.

@ least he is gone from NL30.

Okay, so I'm trying to figure out how to counter people that 4bet when you have a decent hand. I'm running into this pretty often at 100NL and I tend to get lost (and generally change tables when I find this kind of play back at me often).

You're in the BB, villain is 21/19 and a very solid reg. with Att. Steal Blinds at ~35%. He open raises on the BTN for $4, you hold AQo and 3bet him to $13. He 4-bets you to $34. What do you do? You haven't played with this guy a ton but you've seen him make this play a few times already. Is shoving a reasonable option or can you get away from this hand? I realize that if this guy is 4betting light, shoving is definitely +EV, but I can't get myself to do it.

How do you people usually handle this? Also, I thought there was a sticky on 4betting, but I can't seem to find it.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

Very easy. Unless he 4bets light, he commits himself. He is effectively all in. You are the one deciding to put money in or not. Just catch him with the top of your range. I don't remember the exact math, but you need like to pick one spot in 8 being a 3 to 1 favorite to break even. Thats like AK vs AQ. Make it QQ vs JJ and you already show a good profit.

Interesting. So you're saying my 5betAI range should be with QQ+ and AK? What you're saying though is that, for example, if I make this move 8 times with hands like QQ+, AK, I need to be a 3 to 1 favorite one of those times to break even?

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

thing, I think you need a read. Personally, if I am 3betting someone frequently, I have to keep lowering my 5bai range for when they finally take a stand. It sounds like you are on the brink of this range, maybe not just from your 3bets, but from others at the table as well.

Basically, when you have a read that he may be 4betting light, you should 3bet with the intent of a 5bai or calling a shove. If you cant do that with a particular holding, then you shouldn't 3bet imo.

thing85 11-16-2007 12:29 PM

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

Makes sense. Does a light 4bettor usually call a 5bAI? Or can he ever get away from it? (Assume ~pot sized 4bet)

whyzze 11-16-2007 12:33 PM

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

depends...personnally, I think its bad to 4bet and fold ATC when you are 100bbs. I mean, he probably gets away from hands like Q10 and the like and some SCs. But his calling range is definately A10s+, 55+.

I suck at HU poker but wanted to play some for fun so I did a $5.25 HU SnG. I suck badly, playing some combo of weak/tight LAG (if you can make ANY sense of that). However, this guy was way worse and open folded about 3 flops and 1 river. To boot, we built up a decent sized pot on a AKKAA board (2 hearts on the first A and K), and by the river, I shoved (with something like Q8o) and he folded. Obviously he put me on the 4th ace...

Wow, this must be what it's like to play 5NL.

correct it keeps tension in your stomach so your always able to take a hit in your stomach, I learned it in kung fu, when you breath in think about it coming in from your nose and down the front of your body and at the peak of your breath think about it sitting in your Dan Tien wich is bascially where your taint is, then when you breath out think of your breath going up your spine through your brain and then down and out of your nose...this is also how you have tantric sex/multiple orgasms
