Hand Ranges

I'd really like to start putting my opponents on absolute hand ranges (rather than pulling it out of my - ). I read a lot of "well he's top 30%" and I would like to know how these people are determining this number? I have PAHUD running but please keep in mind I have to last for at least 20 minutes before it gets a read on the SNGs I play (20-30 hands).

Also, is there a chart showing the top 30% of hands? 40%? etc.

www.pokerstove.com

Download and start testing different %s.

Generally hand reading is the last thing you'll pick up as a poker player.

SNGs you really won't be in a good position to assess hand ranges because the table dynamic shifts so much as it gets shorthanded. Stack sizes and other core factors will really dictate things more than historical play of that player over that single SNG.

Also for PAHUD you can customize the # of hands required to display, to as little as 1 (which I would do, simpler for me).

Thanks both of you, I downloaded PokerStove and I could see where it would come in handy during tough decisions - and I've also seen that thread before, but at the time I did not understand VPIP and PFR. Both will be put to good use!
