Playing out of a rack

We just went to a no racks on the table rule starting today. I'm curious about this rule at other casinos across the country. Will they let you play out of a rack at your local casino?

They do not have this rule at any room in AC, as far as I know, but they did have it at Canterbury. You could play about one orbit then you had to leave or unrack.

I personally like it since I think allowing people to play out of a rack both slows the game down AND nits the game up. But its not that big of a deal. I'd prefer dealers never colored up any of the big stacks either, but thats pretty unreasonable on my part.

At foxwoods you must have a working stack out of the rack to play with. You can keep chips in a rack on the table.

Most places (all?) in AC require you to at least take a working stack out of your rack, although it's not always enforced.

Where was it that you were expected to play out your rack? Viejas and/or Sycuan in San Diego?

Definitely not enforced at Caesar's. At 1/2 NL the other day, a guy at my table played out of his rack for a few hours. Whenever he went all in, he would just slide the whole rack into the pot. Gheyest thing I ever saw and I couldn't help lol'ing every time.

Actually it's (more) unusual to have a room that will let you play out of a rack, then the other way around.

I'm not sure if there is a rule for it in L.A., but I know when I play at Hollywood Park, every once in a while there is some douche playing out of a rack fumbling chips everywhere and usually the dealer doesn't say anything. This may be an anomaly though.

No racks on the table at Caesar's In. Nothing on the table big enough to hide a card under and no electronic devices on the table. Ipods are fine, keep them off the table. Oh, can't talk on your cell phone sitting at the table or during a hand.
