Help with adaware/ DLLCACHE

My wife has been using this computer and randomly downloads crap. I know I know I have spyware I need to get rid of, but when I run adaware it locks up when it is searching c:\windows\system32\dllcache. At this point it has found 28 items. Is there a way to manually do through and remove these items as it comes to them? I have sun spybot search and destroy and removed all the items it found.

One option might be to try and run Adaware while Windows is in Safe Mode. It would be worth a shot....
