A lesson for all: your embarrassing CDs

Hard drive crashed a while back and I'm re-ripping everything onto my computer. This time, the dregs get digitized too, so I'll start.

The first lesson in learning not to buy into crappy solo careers is to avoid the progeny. First CD I ever bought. Not a good start.

When one grows up in New Jersey I think even fake Springsteen is mandatory. I even have CDs where "Cougar" is dropped for more authenticity.

An ironic purchase (funny in 1997) seems less like irony and more like bad taste 10 years later.

Good thing I have no idea where to find my old cassettes.

I saw some countdown of the worst songs in the 90's recently and this was one of the worst.

I understand music tastes have changed and listening to it now, you might say how bad it sucked... but 2 Legit 2 Quit was the [censored] back when it came out.

Just because songs don't hold the test of time doesn't make them horrible songs.

In my defense, both of these were given to me as gifts, but I definitely was pleased to receive them at the time.

DaveR,

I just moved into a house and organizing thousands of CD's was one of the big chores. Here are some of the ones I laughed at:

But then I found this KEEPER!

I have a copy of "Rob and Fab" - the Milli Vanilli album where they sang -

it was right after the "Behind the Music" special, and it was in the bargain bin right in front of me at the used CD store - I feel like I have the Inverted Jenny of CD's, but made out of crap

I think this was one of the first CDs I ever purchased. I was like ten years old.

Also, I feel much better now knowing I am not the only person with Snow in their photobucket.
