Quick Q about push late in MTT with very short stack.

This is the $8+R on Stars, with around 1000 entrants.
Now we are down to 40 players.

Level is 3k/6k/600 so the pot has 14600 before I act.
Makes my "M" about 4.

UTG+1 (t294235)
MP1 (t31252)
Hero (t55391)
CO (t123945)
Button (t43840)
SB (t94039)
BB (t302244)
UTG (t203700)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero has to push?? </font>

I had been playing very tight on this table.
Should I puah or wait for better cards?
Should I maybe be supertight when this close to FT and thousands of $$?

Thank you very much for your opinions.

Your M=4...9BBs...I would wait for a better spot here with a hand this weak (you're going to have position the next two hands.) Picking up the blinds is a good result here, but what u are really looking to do is double-up. I would shove a pretty wide range here, if table was playing tight and i had a decent image. Shoving here is EV+ if you have FE+decent Showdown Value. In this spot, there is a pretty big diff btwn shoving 53o and 78s. With a big stack in the BB, i'm folding this OTB too. I wouldn't hate shoving this from SB into a med stack BB. The argument for shoving any two here is folding lessens your future FE, but i don't get desperate until 8BBs...

I think a push is horrible here, ok you might be first in but there's alot of people who can pick up a hand and you're way behind if called. You also have a coupel mroe hands before blinds come to you where you'll almost certainly be better than 53 so why push now?

Since I have it on my clipboard I'll post it here too.

Regardless, there is a science to creating profitable situations where you *can't lose* in the long run. 53o Open jam isn't that situation.

I see no justification for shoving here whatsoever.

Only shove if you don't like money.

Easy fold, if this push is profitable then you can find a more profitable push by folding this hand and shoving basically any two cards next hand, which I wouldn't do.
