This has been mentioned elsewhere, but go read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. It validates what you're getting @ and argues that we should listen to our subconscious in a lot of situations like this.

i do have this sort of gut feeling too and it might well be subconcious or whatever. but mostly, ppl just post hands where -in a vacuum- they made a terribly awful laydown, villain showed the hand (a fact that ops tend to forget to mention) , and then they are like "OMG I KNEW I WAS BEAT OMGOGMOGMGOMGOMGOGMOGMOMO YOU FOLDS TOO?!?!?".
i obv appreciate your shove, he had 55, right?

good god you guys even try to read what i post?
its just completely senseless to discuss hands where you have a read that is somehow inexplicable. i absolutely agree that there is this sort of reads and i usually go with them, thats all ill have to contribute.
oh and sorry for annoying you, christophers.

im made some huge folds that people on this board have hated but the only time I got it verified I was correct. But theres no point posting them because its a read and 2+2 cant help you more than a solid read can.

Sigmund Freud on the subconscious:

an area of the mind one cannot be entirely aware of, but that still exerts some influence on one's thinking and actions.

[/ QUOTE ]

There wasn't any subconscious thought involved in this hand.

Your conscious mind told you that on this board, with this action, versus this player, that perhaps you couldn't profitably call despite having a very strong hand.

You just didn't go with the thought.
