maybe this is a silly question, but shouldnt you try to datamine tables before sitting down so you have some sort of read?

Depends on the stakes and what the "average" player does at those stakes. I probably muck on the flop.

After you get check-raised, there is 4.25 BB in the pot. You're calling 2.5 BB (assuming he bets all the way) to win 6.75. It's closer to 25% than 33%. But that's how often you must *win*, not how often you are *ahead* on the flop. If you're ahead of a flush draw, you still only win about 65% of the time (and even less if he has an overcard).

Why did you call down?

dear boz, please write what you'd do and why, instead of constantly being passive-aggressive to noobs and at the same time providing no useful information. thanks.

BBB there is actually quite a lot of information in bozlax post. In addition to that, it also implies how OP should go about these kind of hands.

Dear Babar, it's called Socratic method, the theory being that a person learns more rapidly and completely if they are guided through thinking out the answer themselves rather than being spoon-fed every answer. It's why we ask noobs to give us an idea of their reads and thought processes rather than just posting hands and asking, "How should I play this?"

mkaythx

How many sites is one even able to datamine anymore? And not for nothing, and maybe this is a silly question in response to a silly question, but don't you think there's some value in learning how to think about hands when you don't have a read?
