Posting on the Ron Paul forum
 

My thread on the Ron Paul forum, at www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?p=356283&posted=1#post356283 is going strong. Rep. Paul is a strong supporter of ours, so I hope we'll try to remain engaged on that site to keep our position in the forefront.

Now that our issue is gaining traction, I think Ron Paul supporters will wish to support it as a way to press for reduction of government in our day-to-day lives. Even non-poker playing Ron Paul supporters support our position implicitly. They also seem to have boundless energy and enthusiasm that has only limited outlets. So, we have a win-win situation, perhaps.

The forum is so busy that it's hard to keep this thread on the front page. Please comment there, and make sure to vote the thread 5-stars. Thanks.

Latest odds peg them in Dec. to donate over 6 million in one day, wow, some stout 12 year olds.

1. Ron Paul strongly supports an unregulated internet and has no problem with you looking at porn.

2. It is true that many Ron Paul supporters are younger on average, but Ron Paul has also received more support from our military than any other Republican candidate. At a recent rally in Philly, there were also many veterans in attendance.

Hey "Aul Porn" is an anagram for his name. I don't like his flat tax idea, even if it has a small surcharge for very high income earners, but he has a TON of great ideas, so he's worth looking into, if for nothing more than becoming more educated about it.

My understanding was that his stance on income tax is simply that it shouldn't exist.

You're thinking of the Estate Tax. He thinks that shouldn't exist. Not sure which roads we would drive on if all taxes were abolished... the ones we build ourselves? Or maybe we just print enough money to render taxes obsolete... we're on that path now.

Paul likes a flat tax... replace current income and sales tax with 25% tax and an additional 3.5% on the highest incomes (c. $200K+). That seems a bit too onerous on those at less than 200% of the poverty level.

Paul advocates the elimination of Personal Income Tax, not gasoline excise taxes (used to build roads).

He advocates a government that follows the constitutional authority is is granted, nothing more, nothing less.

BTW, roads ARE constitionally mandated.

Though I like Paul he is wrong on the Federal Reserve, regulating the value of money is also in the Constitution.

The federal reserve is a private bank. It has far more power then any private bank should.

paul thinks income tax also should not exist. It will be replaced with a consumption tax. AKA you get taxed more the more you spend your money. It encourages people to earn and save and ultimately spend because income is higher and goods are cheaper (even though you have to pay a tax to buy them)
This is a system that most experts agree is the best but doubt anyone will be able to overhaul such an entrenched system. Paul is the only one willing to give it a try.

The federal reserve is a private bank. It has far more power then any private bank should.

It is a private bank in the sense that it's chairman is only appointed by the president and approved by the senate, it then is not controlled by either.

Yes, it has loots of power and it does regulate the flow and value of money with no oversite, for a reason, so it will be one LESS thing congress via politics can screw up, though congress is charged with this duty, congress set up the FRRB as an a 'private' government owned bank.
