set deepish river play. 1000 NL

villain 40/12/2 donkey. He is v loose and never folds gutshot. When he bets he is relatively str8forward and doesn't bluff v. often. Earlier I stacked him by turning set vs his TPGK (AQ on A8792 board) I had 99. In previous matches he has been stacking me v deep by constantly hitting str8s with his gutshots and open enders vs my overpairs / sets / two pairs. So bear in mind that this guy is some kind of gutshot hit guru. An important timing tell is that he called turn v quick. He cold calls AQ dunno about AK. He would never fold 2 pair+.

150 bb stax effective.

Re: set deep river play. 1000 NL

I was thinking that 1/3 pot / 3b may be a better line.

I bet more on the flop and turn against this guy. Thoughts on just overbet shoving the river?

If hes aggro this is good. If hes really passive and stationy then just bet the river. I hate a 1/3pot / 3bet line, he doesnt sound like one to bluffraise.

i bet more on the turn like $175 dont know if you were trying to induce a raise. I like the river line a lot vs this opponent.

I like it, besides the fact that you're posting the hand LOL (meaning it prob didn't work out so well).

Not being results orientated, nh!

yeah he obv had JT. How the [censored] do you instacall turn with the nuts? Not even contemplate a minraise !?!!? However, this gets value vs a lost of 2 pair combos that he could have. These combos outnumber JT combos.

he might bluffraise 1/3 pot bet. Just not as often as a maniacal opponent. He should raise his 2 pairs over 1/3 pot bet which would allow me to stack them. I think betting out 2/3-full pot on river is worst option because he would tend to call with 2 pairs and raise w/ the straight. It is much better to get it all in vs the combined range since I am actually a fav.
