Help cure Alzheimer\'s and Parkinson\'s with PS3

Not sure how it works, just read about it and don't have a PS3 to try it out on, but if any of you do give it a try.

Connect the console to the internet.

Go to the "network" page and click on "Folding@home" to cue computers at Stanford to upload a math equation to your system.

When you're not playing, your PS3 works on solving the problem and sends the results to researchers at Stanford. The answers could lead to treatments for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

It's distributed computing, it's been around for years, not sure why it should sound that crazy. Folding@home is the name of a project that uses personal computers to run intensive studies of protein folding behavior for disease prevention, and is apparently available for the PS3.

I love how people get so excited about this and then don't have it running on their personal computer.
