NL50: KK rr pot, villain probably thinks I\'m FOS

Villain was running 25/15/1.5 over 60 hands, I'm about 18/14/2 over same period.
He seems to be playing pretty solid, but no valuable showdown information as yet.

I've 3bet his UTG opens three times in a row prior to this with strong hands and he folded each time.
He instaclled this time, so I got the feeling he's ready to play back at me.

Given this read, I wanted to crai on turn, but the board just got real ugly. So, bet out or c/r and hope to snap off a bluff? There's obviously a pretty good chance I'm beat here, and he may check back a hand like AJ, so was unsure of the best line.

You can checkraise allin or bet, both are good, though I would lean towards a bet just because if he checks through you lose money when he has QQ because he may call the turn. The board isnt really very ugly because he doesnt have 88 and if he has QQ you are an equity favourite anyway.

Ordinarily I'd agree that he's unlikely to have an 8 or two pair but given history, I think his calling range pre is a lot wider than just pocket pairs or AK.

Should have added to OP that we were 6 handed for most of this time, and he had started to open a few more pots since dropping to 5 handed.

Regardless of this, what hands that contain an 8 are continuing after the flop? Is he really calling your flop bet with 78 or 89? Even if he is though, its a small part of his range in comparison and you beat alot of that range.

Even though villain may open up his range against hero, the only hands that beat us and are still in his range are 88, JJ, TT, 78 and 89... even though its VERY close with 78 and 89. Don't think a 24/15 guy is gonna play that even against a maniac.

I don't think 78,89 or to a slightly lesser extent 88 are in his range.

I would, however, add AA and 99 to the hands in his range that beat hero.

I probably bet the turn here. On a blanker turn card I probably would have checked.

I would definitely bet the turn here and call a shove.

Why has nobody mentioned that I'm now behind to JT and T9 also?

Anyway I had a feeling that he was aching to play back at me, so I checked the turn. I think I acted a bit hastily, as this wasn't a great card to be checking on. Too caught up with 'I'll represent a whiffed AK' and let him bluff me.

Looks like a case of the wrong move at the right time....

Yeah I think you played it well. I probably lead the turn against most villains but given your history and read, I think CRAI is just fine.
