Villian: $200

Im on the button with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], folded to me i make it 15 to go. Villian in SB calls, its heads up.

If you lose to his low set, you're just going to have to give it to him. You're not getting away from this hand. At least he is a short stack.

This is going to have to be a call IMO. You don't give much of a read/history on this opponent, but in general you will be ahead here enough of the time in order to make it a call.

That being said, there will of course be times in which the villain turns over his flopped set/straight.

So, how much of the time do we have to ahead here in order to make it a call? This part of the hand analysis is much more interesting/important, because the type of situation you've brought up is going to actually be a decision if we're playing with 1500 effective stacks instead of ~200.

I'll try to quickly figure this out - but please correct any flaws in logic.

Preflop: $35 in pot
Flop: $35+60= $95 in pot
Turn: $95+50+50+100= $295 in pot, $100 for Hero to call

SO at this point, we are getting almost exactly 3:1 on our money.

If we are ahead here at least one out of four times, the call becomes profitable. However, even if our villain already has a straight or a set, we still have 6 cards in the deck that will give us the virtual nuts - SO even if we are ahead a little less than one out of four times, the call will still be profitable (Any input on the exact percentages here would be interesting - I don't have time to figure them out now).

I would say that against typical live opponents (especially those riding a short stack) you are certainly going to be ahead here at least one quarter of the time.

An additional factor in this hand is that the villain is all-in after this bet; For our hand, which has relatively chance of improving and still has lots of showdown value, this is certainly advantageous for us as well, since we won't be facing another large bet if the river does not fill our boat.

In a deep-stacked game, this hand becomes much more interesting. Assume the stacks are $1000 dollars here, what does anyone advocate doing when facing a turn-raise to 150?
