What do you prefer

He's been at the table for about 3 orbits, I've been unusually tight PF. Villain is a good regular, probably one of the more thinking ones. He knows I'm decent. Raise or call? I'm not too concerned with future meta, I just want to know what you think is best this time.

raise. will look like 99/spades/bluff which is a pretty weak range if he has anything, also there's still quite a bit to get in

Depends imo, if you never raise the flop here then raising sucks. Since you have to ask I assume you do not raise that many flops so I like a call

We really don't have that much history, I don't think I've put pressure on him in a spot like this before (this deep) but that's in large part because I haven't played him that much

Please correct me if anyone strongly disagrees. Whats so wrong with just calling? I dont think theres a turn card that reaaally worries us. Calling on the flop may induce him to either love his hand a little more if its like AQ or AJ or induce another shot on the turn if he's bluffing.

I think you get the most money out of the hand by calling flop, and hopefully getting it in on the turn.

I prefer calling, but it really depends on how you play your other hands or how he thinks you do. I think the money is going in vs AK/AA regardless, but calling allows him to bluff air, JJ or whatever.

CLear raise? I'd really like to know why? What cards could come that make us not willing to get it in on the turn? If a spade comes, we still have plenty of outs if he has the flush. AA is small possibility but either way, we're getting our money in, its just finding the best line to get him to put his money in with us.

if a spade rolls off and he has AK/AQ/99/A9/K9/spades u might not get full value. same goes for a jack/queen. same goes for some runner runner combos.
