Re: tipping

Does the tourney already set aside an amount to go to the staff?

I don't have a standard amount, but I've never really had to worry about it either.

Anything between 0% and 100% is OK, and entirely up to you.

I will personally hunt him down, beat him to death and then ban his corpse if he gives back 100%. Charity is much better.

Larry - generally there is a % that goes to the house, not the dealers. It varies by casino and by tournament within that casino.

Generally I tip a nominal amount for any cash > 2x buyin. I don't tip if I don't profit at least one buyin. Tip is based on quality of service

agree but the 2xbuyin depends a lot on the amount of entries to the tourney. I'll prolly tip 2xbuyin if I cash for something like 20xbuyins so tourney has to have about 100 people.

Sapol, I think Selling was saying he will tip a nominal amount if he cashes > 2x buy-in. He was not saying that his tip amount will be > 2x buy-in.

Not that I have much experience in these situations, but I think that would be a BIG tip.

Re: tipping

Considering the smallest live tournament I've played in 2007 had a $340 buyin, a couple buyins would be a BIG tip!
