What the heck is Villain doing here? Is this often enough a bluff to call it? Or does he have the 5? Or 99/TT/JJ? What should I do? Any comments are greatly appreciated ...

Yeah this screams mid pair I think you have to fold.

I've been donating a lot of chips lately turning AK into a bluff/crying call in situations like this one. An unimproved AK on a coordinated board in the face of apparent strength is a trash hand.

A low pair seems reasonable. He could also have flat called the two pre-flop raises with AA, which some folks like to do (although I think he re-raises you with that hand). He could also have made a bad play with a 5 in his hand (not likely), or be fast shoving with a Queen and hoping you interpret it as weakness.

I guess the main question is, what could he possibly be playing that you have beat? Realistically, the only hands I see him playing that you have beat would be JT or KJ, with JT more likely. There is also a relatively decent chance of another AK. But all of these hands seem less likely than him being ahead of you, and you just aren't getting odds to find out.

I don't see any way you can call this bet.

OK, thanks guys. I folded - but just wanted to check my line back.
