Kiosk in shopping/entertainment mall...

If you were able to rent at Kiosk in a shopping center catering to 40 somethings in a slowly tranforming from downtown urban to condo mecca in a waterfront city what would you go for?

ideally low inventory as you only have a 5ft by 2ft. kiosk and perishbles wouldn't be the best bet...also working capital for starting up would preferably kept around 10k., more or less.

something tourist related wouldn't be too bad, but rather something less seasonally based...

all suggestions and thoughts would be great.

Redroomdvd in Australia seems to be taking off, though I understand MacDonald's offers the service as Redbox in USA so perhaps you can no longer get a franchise.

oh oh, thanks for the suggestion, but i am not looking for a vending machine...

this is for a kiosk/push cart (not going to be pushed anywhere) idea for a upbeat shopping center

Whatever it is, I think it needs to be something which meets the following criteria:

1. It is an impulse buy
2. It retails for between $10-$35

Friends of my parents rented a kiosk for a month at an upscale mall in suburban Chicago to try and sell some very nice crystal crosses which they import from Eastern Europe. It failed miserably, because it was an item which you don't just see and go "hey, I want one." It's something which requires repeat visits to think about. That doesn't work at a kiosk.

If you are in an area with a lot of kids, there should be visuals which get toddlers to race over to your kiosk, dragging their parents over. It doesn't have to be a kid's product, just something shiny to get a 4-year-old's attention.

Hats/Sunglasses of questionable quality wouldn't be too shabby of an idea as this cart is outside...inventory?
