Need Vegas Weekend Tournament Advice

Hi all,

I'm going to be in Vegas this weekend (Sat morning to Mon morning) and was hoping to get some advice/recommendations for some good NL tournaments to play while I'm there.

Let me add this... I have a kid, and a 2nd on the way. I haven't been to Vegas in a long time, and realistically probably won't be able to get out there again (with my gambling buddies) for a long time.

I'm hoping to find tourneys around $100-200 buy in with decent prize pools. Anyone have any experience with $150+30 on Sat night? If we feel up to it, I'm guessing Bellagio's Sunday $540+55 Sun would be amazing... but please tell me if I'm wrong.

Also, anyone have any suggestions for good places for sit and go's?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice. I know many of you are either Vegas locals and/or have played in these tournaments before. I don't want to fall into my old trap and end up playing craps all weekend, so I'm trying to keep myself playing as much poker as possible.

Check out www.allvegaspoker.com It has great stuff for planning a poker trip to vegas.

thanks scotty, I've looked over their tournament schedule:

but still don't have any experience with them and was hoping to get some 2+2 advice based on first hand experience. I see that Treasure Island is rated high as a poker room... but what about their Sat tournament? Anyone played it?

hey... i am in vegas later next week too, and also was on that site looking for a good tournament.

Bottom line, pretty much anywhere i looked the structures were a disaster (until you got to very top of the stakes). I found this very depressing and likely won't be playing in a tournament when I am there, much to my disappointment. It just seems like every casino just has a wham-bam-thank you ma'am structure to appease the casual tourist who wants to "try" poker.

Not to mention the rake in live lower stakes tournaments should be a fellony for larson.

Just my thoughts

This would be better asked in B&M forum.

wow, that venetian one wounds perfect! thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I looked at B&M forum but saw no talk at all about tournaments so wasn't sure where to post. Mods, please move if you feel it's appropriate.

Thanks again everyone for your advice!

here's a B&M thread from earlier this year that has a bunch of good info regarding Vegas tourneys.
