My roommate can be a POS sometimes!

So last night I was trying to get to sleep, and I heard my roommate come back from the bar and was talking to another one of our friend's who was dating a girl who was our neighbor from last year.

Anyways, so they are talking and all of a sudden this loud boom goes off, sounds like a shotgun, it scared the blutarski out of me. I jumped out of bed and then I thought, "oh [censored] maybe someone shot my roommate!" I stand there to listen for a few seconds to see if I hear anything else and then I hear him laughing.

So I open my door and I'm walking down the steps and I just get hit with this wall of corrosive gas and I start choking and run back up the steps to get some fresh air, and I'm like "what the [censored]!" I then try to go down again and I'm still choking and I yell at him to open the door. I run back up to my room and get a sweatshirt and put it on and then cover my mouth and nose and then jump outside. There was [censored] all over the floor near the bottom of the steps, [censored] all over the walls, ceiling, and carpet. He even got it all over his new Penguins jersey that he just bought for $185. There was aluminum foil all over the living room.

Here, he took a 2 liter bottle and put aluminum foil and The Works bathroom cleaner together and made a bomb. He shook it up while he was holding it and before he could throw it out the door, it exploded in his hand. He was probably down there for over an hour scrubbing the walls and cleaning up everything. The rag he used is sitting in the sink, and the downstairs smells like the gas.

Should I kick in him the ovaries or contact Chuck Norris to give him a roundhouse kick to the uterus?

BTW, Wednesday night we went to the Penguins game and we both bought $185 Sidney Crosby Penguins jersey's. That night he went out with his friend to a bar and he got ketchup all over the sleeve and some on the penguin logo. Now he has corrosive bathroom cleaner on it.

Maybe I should contact a museum and tell them I found one of the remaining Neanderthals of our time?

Yes, it's not cool, but who cares if he ruins his own jersey? That's not your problem. It does sound like he's a POS though.

I also like "scared the blutarski out of me"

No, it's not, and I don't really care all that much, but it's just the fact that it was a big purchase. We aren't ballers like the rest of 2+2. He barely has money to pay the bills sometimes. I just don't understand how someone can be that sloppy with something as nice as it is and wouldn't take extra precautions to guard it.

ItalianFX,

I was driving to work this morning and I noticed a ton of Mercedes/other rich people cars have "I support the 11-99 foundation". Apparently the 11-99 foundation is some CHP organization people donate to to get these license plates. My question is, when you pull someone over and they have a license plate frame or bumper sticker saying something like "i support my local police department" how much less likely are they to get ticketed than your average driver? thanks.

Your roommate would be a real POS if he didnt even attempt to clean up the mess he made. The way your story goes it just seems like he is a drunk donk, who obv wasnt using his brain when it really mattered.

The scared the blutarski out of me line is gold.

Which is all the time. He only did it at the time to be funny because our friend was over here who we rarely ever see anymore. This isn't the first time he has done something completely stupid.

2 years ago he came back drunk from the bar and put a pot of macaroni on the stove. He then went and fell asleep on the couch only to set the smoke alarms off, and ruin our other roommates pot because the water had all boiled out and it was starting to burn the macaroni, with the burner on high obviously. If I wasn't here to go down and see what the hell was going on, I'm sure it could have been alot worse. Not to mention the 2 or 3 other times he has left the oven on after cooking something because the only thing he can think about is shoving that food down his throat. And then he tried telling me that leaving the oven on was no different than cooking a turkey. I had to explain to him that when a turkey is in the oven, the heat is going towards the turkey, not to heat up the oven to the point where the outside burner knobs are too hot to touch.

He's the type of guy who will get louder as more and more girls come around. He wants to be the center of attention and he makes little things into big deals. Last night we went to Sheetz (convenience store) to get some drinks and food before the Penguins game started and he ordered the wrong thing, but proceeded to get pissed at everyone else because he was impatient and walking around saying, "this is [censored] ridiculous" so that everyone can hear him. Also, at the Penguins game on Wednesday night, the Flyers scored 28 seconds into the game and he said "are you [censored] serious?" oblivious to the fact that an 8 year old kid was sitting right in front of him, where the kid's dad turned around and said something to him.

He also leaves the bread open when he's done with it and then it goes on and gets moldy and disgusting. Then he wonders why half the loaf goes bad before he can eat it. Or he'll use peanut butter and not put the top back on the container. And he has a thing of Pringles sitting on the counter without the lid on it. It has been sitting there all week. He has a one track mind and is only concerned with himself.

I could probably list several more things.

My point is that this isn't the first time I've had to deal with something like this.

When my roommates make a mess, I try to make even more of a mess to make a point. Yeah, I'm probably a dick, but whatever, it makes me feel good. Last month the dishes in our sink sat there for 2 weeks and nobody would clean them. And I used to do the dishes just about everyday. My other roommate does the dishes like never. So to be a dick, I took the dishes from one side and piled them on the dishes of the otherside. I took the drain cover that had food in it, and I slammed it down on one of the plates so that the old, wet food would go all over the dirty dishes, I took some beer bottles and cans and put them into the sink, and then took an old pizza box that I had moved 2 TIMES! to try and get someone to take the trash out, and wedged it in between the dishes and the faucet, which was obvious.

The pizza box ended up getting thrown out, the beer cans never moved, and the dishes still didn't get cleaned.

I really don't know how to answer that because I never pulled someone over and ran into that situation. While I can't speak for the others, if you are considering buying one for that very reason, I can't see why it wouldn't be of benefit as it could make the difference between getting a ticket and not getting a ticket.

I'm sitting here trying to think about what I would do if I did run into something like that, and I really have no idea. I probably let more people go than I cite, so odds are that I would let them go, but that is only speaking for me personally.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have taken toilet paper and brought it into my room before too. We have a pot scrubber that we use for all dishes, it's just easier to do the dishes that way. Anyways, so our old one was getting all torn up and getting old, and it was there for 2 weeks and neither of them took the initiative to go out and buy a new one.

We then ran out of toilet paper about 2 weeks ago and of course, they don't go out and get any so I said "[censored] it" and went and bought some. It was the thin stuff so that they don't use 1 roll per wipe, and my one roommate had the nerve to say, "Why didn't you get the soft stuff?" Seriously!?!?!? I said, "because I bought it so I am going to buy what I want to buy so that you and (our other roommate) don't use up an entire roll when you wipe your ass!"

Another thing that just pisses me off, when they use up the whole roll, they will get another roll out, but won't take the old cardboard roll of the toilet paper thing and throw it out. They'll just put the new roll on the counter. Geezus!

And then when our garbage gets full, they'll just keep trying to stuff boxes and whatever into it so that the bag starts to rip instead of taking it outside and getting a new bag.

I'm getting fired up now.

I'll be friends with the one. We were in the military together, 2 deployments, lived together now for 2.5 years. We have a long history, it's like a love/hate relationship that you can never get over. Him and I are talking about getting a place together in Pittsburgh next fall.

The other roommate, I probably won't ever talk to him again. He's from around the same area I grew up in, but he is a little too immature for me. He doesn't think on the same level of me, he doesn't like sports (except for hockey which he only started liking last month when we started watching it.) He asked us one day, "are they skating on ice or wax?" I had to leave the room just so I wouldn't laugh in front of him. I like him and all, but I can only put up with him for so long. He's not roommate material for me. He also has 2.5 years of school left, whereas my other roommate only has 1 year left and may commute that last semester if we move to Pittsburgh.

It's not so much that I dislike them as I can't stand how irresponsible they are.

What am I going to do, carry a safe around with me? I put the gun in its case and hid it in my closet. She knew where it was, but nobody else knew that it was down here or even knew that I was a police officer so why would they think I had a gun here?

I made it known to my roommate that I didn't like the idea of him doing what he wanted to do and I told him I had nothing to do with it. He bought the materials late last week and never went through with it. I told him if he is going to do it, to wait until nighttime and do it outside. Well, I didn't know he was going to get the idea to do it INSIDE LAST NIGHT when I was in my room trying to sleep. Plus, I'm not his dad and I'm not going to tell him how to live his life. If he wants to get drunk and stupid, hurt himself, or get himself in trouble, that is his own doing. I make it known that I'm not happy with his decisions, but it's not like he's going to listen to me when he has his mind set on doing something. Most people don't think before they act. He is one of them. Nothing I say is going to make him change. He'll just say to me, "Come on man, it'll be funny!" and then he'll go do it.
