Well, I followed the basic preflop re-raise strategy, and by having him call I assume this random villain of unknown stats to be at JJ,QQ, AK-AJ. Am I right to act as I did?

Just shove pre. As played take the free one. You either have the best hand or he isn't folding.

This hand is exactly why I choose to either call the PF 3bet or push - I have no idea what to do when I miss.

yea, makes sense, i was thinking maybe im sometimes egtting a fold out of AK here post, but on the other hand im giving QQ,JJ good reason to call with positive EV. Therefore, taking away my conflip against these hands.
