AA in the Big Blind

There are only two player profiles in this hand, actually three if you include me, the rest fold on the flop.

Let me set the table.

I am in the big blind in seat 3, I would like to think that I have a solid image, I am having a good session, I have about 4 racks of chips in front of me and I have only shown down winning hands.

Seat 4 is a very nice man but a lousy poker player, he plays too many hands and goes too far with them. He is in the game for about two racks at this point.

Seat 6 is an unknown, I have never played with him before and I believe he is waiting for a seat in a no limit game, so he may feel that he is slumming playing limit. He has only been in the game for about 15 minutes.

Pre-Flop

Seat 4, 6 and the button limp, the small blind completes and I raise, they all call.

Flop is

J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Small blind checks, I bet, seats 4 and 6 call, button and small blind fold.

Turn

7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I bet, seat 4 calls and seat 6 raises. I call fairly quickly but not before I notice that seat 4 is unhappy with the raise, the wheels are also spinning in my head as to seat 6's holdings. Seat 4 groans, mumbles something about 'donation' and throws in eight more chips

River

I tend to prefer check/calling over bet/folding in large pots

check and call one bet, fold if 4 bets and 6 raises or 4 c/r

"I . . . . "

throw that losing hand in the muck?

That 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the turn was a seemingly inocuous card for the guy to be raising on. I sure don't like your hand much here, but, since the pot is large, I suppose I would check and call a bet, check and fold to a bet and a raise. The problem is that if seat 6 had some silly hand like Q-7 or A-3 that you couterfeited on the river, that raises the chance that the "donator" had a jack.

The more I think about it the more I think you're no good.

He wrote a thread about AA in the big blind; how could his hand be any good?

Maybe he folded the winning hand.

if seat 4 puts in any action on the river i dont think you can win, but since the river paired possibly counterfeiting i would check call seat 6 and pray

Q-7 or Q-3 (not A-3).
