Par for the course. Not sure what you were trying to accomplish with the raise on hand 2. Just push all in.

by the looks of these hands you need to get way more aggressive HU.
Neither of these are close decisions.

In the 2nd example there are actually relatively few hands that you should not push with.
And depending on the opponent, it may be correct to push every hand here!

Re: (33) Heads up check up

As to the first hand, whether the push is right depends on the villian's calling range. If this is a loose villian in a low stakes game, maybe it's a good play, but with the short stack having 17 BBs, I make my standard 3xBB raise.

EDIT: Thanks to pudge for catching my misread. Push.

As to the second hand, it appears that you are not yet familar with the results of the simulations by eastbay, dethgrind, etc. regarding optimal push/call strategies. Start reading many of the threads on the subject. I would simply push this hand. The raise is a good play if and only if you expected the villian to fold to a push, but push over the top of your raise.

Blinds are 200/400 in the first hand. Hero has 11bb and villian has about 9
