It's still a very big hitters park.

And errors/fielding % is a horrible way to judge defense.

edit: Not saying they're a bad defensive team. Tulowitzki and Holliday are both sick sick defenders.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree on both counts, but by just about any statistical comparison (total chances, range factor, what have you), the Rockies defense comes up aces compared to any other club in MLB this year. And, while fielding pct. by itself is hardly the be all and end all, the best all time single season team fielding pct. must represent something, ya know?

Rockies are from the midwest?

If you happen to from the West or the East, then yes, the Rockies are def MidWest.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't care where you're from.
Including Colorado as being part of the 'midwest' is just weird.

Thanks gents, I suspect I wouldn't have figured it out. If COL wins this game they're going to the series. My god the NL is terrible this year.

And a big FU to the cable company who has an agreement with TBSHD but hasn't added the channel yet. Worthless.

You must be a Yankees or Red Sox fan, huh. Your awesome AL teams lost five of six to the Rockies this year.

AL West had four teams over .500. NL Central was weak, I'll grant you that. But, last I saw, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and Kansas City were all in the American League.

Hate to break it to you buddy, but all 4 AL playoff teams are much much much better than any NL team.

Re: finally gonna have a tiebreaker game

National League had more parity, that is true

But good god, give me the Orioles and D-Rays to play 18 times a year please, k thx... I'll trade them for the Giants/Dodgers anyday

First I'm not ragging on COL, I hope they win it all.

The "best" NL teams aren't that special

%&^$ NO I'm not a yankee fan

My team didn't make the playoffs but would probably score around 12 a game in coors.

I would put Cleveland and Anaheim over any NL team, but that's about it. I'd put the Red Sox over Arizona and the Cubs, and about even with the Phillies and Rockies. Arizona is worse than any AL team in the playoffs.

But if you think NY and Boston are categorically better than Philadelphia and Colorado, you might want to ease up on some of that major market ESPN-fed Kool-Aid just a touch.

Considering the Yankees and Red Sox are the two best teams in the AL, and therefore the majors, this does not make sense.

Of course, the classic argument is that Pitching and Defense wins championships, and the Yankees with their amazing hitting have no shot.

As much as it's fun to clown the downie kid for not grasping sample size and stuff, it's equally frue that being the better team isn't that important over a 7 game series.

Signed,

Watching your team win 116 games and knowing that it's meaningless eats a bag of dicks.

Re: finally gonna have a tiebreaker game

BTW, anyone check Peavy's postseason stats lately?
Not pretty.

0-2, 9.2 IP, 19 H, 13 R, 13 ER, 3 HR, 4 BB, 5 SO, a WHIP around 2.4.

Of course, today's a different day.

Luckily for the Padres, today's game counts as a regular season game!

Re: finally gonna have a tiebreaker game

i think if fogg pitches OK this one is definitely going to the rockies.

i expect a very good but not "super amazing" perforance from peavy but i don't think the padres can produce enough offense without bradley to overcome the main 5 from the rockies. plus spilbourghs and matsui are not exactly offensive slouches.

the rockies just have too much offense and bullpen if fogg can pitch semi-ok.

There is nothing more retarded than picking individual baseball games.

Although picking against Jake Peavy might be up there.

My point is picking winners may be silly, but analyzing a game isn't. If Fogg pitches five good innings we should win the game because we held off SD's only real advantage.

Furthermore.. this argument is terrible.

Why pick an NBA game.. no one has gone 0-82 its all 50/50!

Fans pick games.. talk about them.. get excited. Sorry you can't relate to that.
