if buy-in fro the table is min 200$ and max 500$, player buy 300$, and lose, can he NOW buy for 100$, because he don"t have more, or he must move to a table with lover limits?

I've seen this alot.

As you even see on FTP, you can buy in for 1 BB after you go broke on a table....<------------------------- Don't reccomend it though.

Some places allow a "short buy" after the initial buy-in, many do not. Most of those that do, that I know of, proclaim you can only short buy once, and may have a limit on how short the buy can be.

It definitely never (in my experience) matters how much you bought in for. You can buy in for $500 or $200 the first time and that has no bearing on whether you are allowed to buy in short next time.

And there's the "if nobody at the table objects, you can buy in short" exception. Typically used at 3am when there are 6 players left and the game is dying.

Oh... one other exception I've seen is the "if you're not busted you can top up your stack by any amount" clause. Long as you still have $1 in front of you, you can add anything from $1 on up to the cap. Wacky.

This rule is in place around here. If you go busto (less than $5 in a 2/5 game), you have to rebuy the table minimum. If you have money in play, you can buy whatever you want.

I've seen players appear to push all in, but hold back 5-6 whites pretty frequently as a card cap. I'm pretty sure that at least some of them are doing it as an angle to get to rebuy short.

Locally (San Jose), any purchase of chips that does not bring you up to the minimum buy-in (ie buy $20 to add to a $30 stack in 6/12) is a "short buy".

Also, one club has "one short buy per table session" rule while the other has "short buy, full buy, short buy" rule.
