I wish I knew what I was doing

In an earlier hand with villian, I just called a raise with KK PF (thought BB would squeeze) and then called a cbet on an A high flop, checked behind the turn when he checked to me, and then put in a small river bet when he checked to me again, he checkraised me and I called and he had nothing.

PokerStars $2/$4 No-Limit Hold'em - 6 players

BB: $301.30
UTG: $450.00
MP: $792.00
CO: $633.00
Button: $184.70
SB: $400.00

Preflop: Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG raises to $12, Hero raises to $36, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $24.

Flop: ($78.00) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $68, UTG raises to $172, Hero raises to $756 (all in), UTG calls $242 (all in).

Right after I shoved I thought to myself "wtf am I doing??" because I think its a bad play, but the limit player in me still cant bear the thought of folding an overpair to a flop checkraise.

so anyway, is my play bad? if it is, how bad is it? And what should I have done?

You're not exceptionally deep, so this qualifies under:

[x] Not folding KK in RR pot on non-ace flop

...although I think you should RR more preflop, a pot-sized raise is to $42 so I'd go that size.

sweet, I didn't know this rule

I've got an obvious lack of experience here, but are people checkraising AJ or 99 in 3 bet pots here?

say we were both 250bb deep, what would an appropriate response be?

Call the c/r and probably fold to a huge turn bet but otherwise prob check turn/vb riv or call riv bet.

Nah
I can see him semibluffing QK, AK, or overplaying hands like AJ and QQ. I rather bet to induce.

edit: though this is might not apply to you since my image is really crap

I was answering his question of "what do we do if we're deep?" Obv, we aren't folding here.
