Currently uninstalling norton and installing AVG as norton is ****

About to go off to my weekly uni poker tourney £5 entry 1500 stacks blinds start at 25/25 with 20 min levels. Never done particularly well, I really suck at tourneys. I think I play too tight when the blinds start going up (or is that what you are supposed to do?)

with the fpp satts you win entry into a bigger tournament? Can you take the cash instead?

The FPP satellites to the million give you 215 Tournament Dollars, the FPP sats to the round 2 FPP sats give you the round 2 FPP amounts (4k to 40k gives you 40k etc). Not sure if there are any other ones.

not a reg in this thread yet, but I was reading a sick article on Deeb and this was at the end. Thought it would be good for many of the microNLers.

"Take your game to the next level by thinking about not just your hand, but how your opponent is playing his hand, what his range of cards is, and what he thinks you think about his hand. When you can do this, you will be amazed at how transparent some players become."

Good advice - but at uNL, over-thinking your opponent can be dangerous if he's thinking at level 0. Definitely good to keep in mind wherever applicable though.

Quick question :
This is a spot I've been in several times, and I've always wondered if it was worth it to bluff the river here. When the spade comes we have almost no showdown value, but any bet should make him fold a flush, right ?

Anyone know of a tool that calculates possible combinations of hands for villain given an range of hands? Which also takes away combinations that arent possible due to board/your hole cards? Like, 57 combinations are available for villain hand range atm....

Thanks

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

Yeah I guess the flop is a weird spot, would you just fold to the raise ? Or not c-bet ? My line seemed OK to me, but I might be wrong. I think it's a good board for Villain to semi-bluff-raise, so I elected to call and lead a blank turn.

You check the flop because if he has a queen he is obviously not folding. Checking keeps the pot small and you can call and re-eval the turn.

Yeah but it's close enough to where you should play nl100 and focus more as opposed to auto-pilot nl50 and possibly lose a bunch.

But there are a lot of draws so I think I have to bet for protection, and never cbetting your middle pair type hands seems very exploitable to me. And I might get a call from lower pocket pairs I think. And trying to do some pot control OOP is pretty tough anyway.

but you got raised that should be the end of the hand. I am not saying to do this every time, but think about how the hand would have played out if you checked. He bets a much smaller amount and you can call and then try to get to the showdown for as cheap as possible. There is no reason to continue after being raised on the flop IMO
