How does WSEX live betting work?

Someone explain this to me. I don't understand what the numbers next to buy and sell mean.

Series Name Sell Buy
UCLA -3.5 41 46 +117
KENTUCKY +3.5 54 59 -143

That is the price - e.g. 46$ to buy ucla -3.5 . This buys you a 100$ share, when the game is over if ucla covers you get 100$.

The money line equivalents are there as well. Buying ucla at 46 is equiv to +117 on the moneyline. Selling ucla at 41 is equal to -143.

Thanks I am pretty sure I understand it now. I deposited $2K in WSEX to live bet but then was to scared I was going to mess something up.

So given the original example:
If I wanted to bet Kentucky +3.5 -143

Would I click on buy 59 in the Kentucky row or sell 41 in the UCLA row.
Does it make a difference? Can I click on either one?

Also do these rely on getting matched? I guess I should play small while I get the hang of it.

On wsex, the house takes the bets so the bets don't have to be matched by another user.

Buy 59 or sell 41 are the same.

Thanks. I was wondering that myself. I figured you had to have first bet on the game before you could sell an option.

So let me get this straight. Let's say I lay $100 on Team A as a +6 underdog. Now I'm watching the game. Team A scores a quick touchdown. I could then SELL a $100 option, for let's say, $60, and be guaranteed a $10 profit (unless there is a push).

I find WSEX does a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE job at explaining live betting.

Re: How does WSEX live betting work?

If you short UCLA here (sell @ $41) then WSEX takes $100 out of your account and credits it all back ($41 + $59) if they don't cover. This is the same as buying the other team at $59, except you are unable to access the other $41. For this reason there is no logic in shorting one team when you could just buy the other, unless you just don't trust yourself with the extra $41 in your account. It's just another gimmick to be avoided, IMO.
