Top 2 pair against TAG

MP1 is a TAG, 20/8.5/2.0 after 8xx hands. He folds a lot, seems to be only betting his strong hands.... agg freq is 42.

I was kinda confused when MP1 decided to raise after calling the first bet... Now on the turn he decides to open up the action again... What hands can I put him on?

Re: Top 2 pair against TAG

If he's TAG and didnt raise preflop then I'd put him on pocket 3s or 9s in this hand. A-rag seems unlikely, AQ+ would have got raised.

Maybe he has A-3 suited, but trips seems more like it.

A set, most likely. 2pr is possible. Also, I'm not too much of a fan of your PF-limp. A9o isn't a great multi-way hand.

You have odds to call hoping for a FH, and he might just have A3s for a lower 2pr. So call down.

You know it would hard to fault you for calling down with this hand at .05/.10 against someone who is playing very aggressively. (Although that decision should have been made when he three bet the flop. I don't think your cap was a very good play IMO)

That said, if you do call down, you are going to lose nearly all of the time. He will predominately show you 99 or 33 at showdown and, rarely, AA (not real likely because of preflop play)

You guys also realize that there's only 1 way for him to have 99 or AA, on top of him having had to limp those hands. I agree that this is mostly 33, but between the immediate pot odds and sweet, sweet implied odds of catching an A or a 9, plus the chance of A3s (2 hands, only 3 hands possible for 33) and the occasional chop, I call this down.

this flop has no draws, so we are only hoping for A3s. wa/wb, no point in putting anymore chips than necessary.

Re: Top 2 pair against TAG

also a tag is usually raising flop w/A3.

*grunch*
i am pretty much confused as well.. i think i would call it down.. he might have a set 33 or 99 especially as he cold called the first flop bet (to get more money in the pot.) and after the reraise he is pretty certain that utg and heros money is going into the pot as well. Another reason is that he donked the turn after a flop cap.
