KK on the river

Full Tilt 3/6, currently 4 handed

villain unknown

Hero raises black KK UTG, small blind calls, big blind (villain) 3-bets, hero caps and they call

FLOP: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

checked to Hero who bets, both players call

TURN: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

checked to Hero who bets, both players call

RIVER: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

small blind checks, villain bets, Hero?

Re: KK on the river

I'd fold. I don't think he's a very special player often enough.

agreed, protected pot 13:1 probably not quite enough (what do u think would be Sharpie?).

Re: KK on the river

I counted 11.5:1 currently, -.5 for rake, but + whatever for the overcall, say 11.5:1.

Honestly I've got no idea what the pot size should be before we call. I haven't come across this situation too much.

yeah I make a fold here.

If you folded the best hand make a note.

If this is a bluff it's a god awful bluff. I fold and lol if I mucked a winner.

Re: KK on the river

My thinking was that he could only be betting a worse hand if he had seen my cards without me knowing about it! He knows that KQ ain't calling (and I'm not capping it preflop anyway), so that leaves what pf capping hand that calls this river and loses? I'd fold TT here without thinking. So if it's a bet for value, he has the ace or flush. He seems to be either betting the river for value, or so I can raise and he can 3bet.

Re: KK on the river

I was very quick to bet on all streets, making it clear I think that I had a pair, TT-AA. When the ace rivers, the chances of me having AA is diminished significantly, and KK becomes the most likely suspect.

Villain's hand was QQ. He was called by the small blind and took it down.

Is villain one of those "special" players or is he expert?
