Are they also ultra tough? I found step 3 fairly easy, step 4 I could hold my own if I really concentrated (and 1-tabled) and step 5 was just plain tough.

It might just depend on the table but I made it to Step 6 in the course of about 7 hours and the Step 6 table was super tough. I played the best poker of my life and only got 5th. It does play tight but not as tight as you would think. I watched a Few Step 6 tables and there was a lot of good play on those.
