50NL Should I slow down with my set here?

Should I have just shoved on the turn after getting 3bet? Should I be worried about a boat here? My min raise made it fairly obvious what I had (and probably a poor play), and he still came over the top. Villain was 27/5/5.55 over about 55 hands.

You don't have a set. Do something differently preflop. Bet the flop. Raise more on the turn initially.

You don't have a set.

Fold preflop.

Bet flop.

Raise more on turn.

As played, you have no idea where you are. Someone could have backed into a straight or full house. Or they may have TJ. This is why you don't play hands like two pair or trips this way. If you play this straight-forward and a decent player goes nuts on you you can think about bailing (or at least slowing down and playing WA/WB). As it is, you've under-repped your hand (you call it slowplaying, I call it shooting yourself in the foot). So you get what you want, action, and now you're in a panic?

And please include the buy-in level in the subject of your posts. Thanks.

You have a strong hand in a 3.5bb pot on the flop. Please bet and build it to make more.

raise or fold preflop, i would lean toward a fold. pot the flop, raise to at least 5 on the turn, get it all-in.

Cry Me A River explained it pretty well. You have a good hand, you should built the pot on the flop, also you are charging a hand like J9s to pay to see their gut shot. In this case, he could caught his gut shot and stacked you.

Preflop is really bad too, just fold. ATs is not a great hand in early position.
