Bellagio $1K near bubble (consider it a $20 MTT if you like)

Villain is ?John Lee? very aggro older asian who has built a big stack. I doubled through him not long ago with AK vs 56hh on KK2xhh flop. He's been raising a lot, sometimes 2-bet pushing. Meanwhile, I have open raised at least once per orbit and had to lay down to a push a couple times.

Paying 9, 1st= $34K, 5th-9th are meh and pretty much won't get me a freeroll into the $5K 6 handed event so I don't care.

14 left. Blinds 800-1600/200.

Villian open raises to 4500 in HJ (55,000)

Hero (48,000) has A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on button.

SB is below average.

BB has a lot of chips but hasn't played many hands at all.

Hero ???

If you call, what is your flop plan?

If you raise, what is your response to a 3-bet push? (which seems likely given villain's recent play)

Anyone push ?

I like the three bet push here are we too deep?

I like a raise to 15,000 with the intention of calling a shove from HJ. Shoving wouldn't be bad either, but just raising might let HJ try some crazy 4 bet. If you are even going to think about folding if HJ shoves over your reraise, then just shove.

on the button I think call is option 1 and 3-bet/call a shove is #2

it depends on how he has been playing post flop once he runs into some resistance. If you think that he will check/fold some flops and easily give up I like a call other than that I would rather 3bet.

I think you have too many chips to shove, but I like making the raise bigger than normal to make it easier for you to call a shove, and to discourage him from stop-n-go'in you. Like 20000. I could see floating, and raising all-in on all flops that don't have a queen or king on them, but I think 3-betting better.

call, but raise call-shove w/ AK AQ

I like a call here too, I don't think we beat enough hands that call a shove, to shove. Calling lets us re-evaluate, and it's not that much of our stack.

No raise here short of a shove makes sense. Raising to 15k is 1/3 our stack. There's no way we should be folding ever after putting that much in, so might as well shove. Also, maximize FE.

As others have said, Shove AQo, TT+. I'm not sure what to do with 99, but I think I just call.

OK, assumme flop is Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Is any of the preflop discussion now relevant? (i.e. its all getting in here, right?)
