How do YOU choose tables?

Hi guys, was looking for a tread like this but did not find one.

What are the main stats you are looking for when picking a table?
Whats most important to you?
What kind of player would you like to find there?

I look for the tables that have a high % players per flop.
Pot size comes second (but in my op it indicates of alot of agg. players)

I like to have alot of callers, and some tight/weak/passive players in there. LAG is the most annoying to meet in my op, because thats my own style of playing

A lot of people choose to mine tables before they join them. Usually I pick a table with a high% of players per flop meaing there are a lot more loose players. However, if I've played about 25 hands and I notice that there are no real crazy players, and it's filled with a lot of TAGS, then I'll usually move to find another table.

Usually when you play 10NL and 25NL you can just auto pilot and do fairly well. 50NL and above, I like to scout out tables for about 5 minutes before I play. I'll watch the games and hand pick tables. I'll start my search by looking at player % to the flop.

The only things I really care about is that there are no or only 1 short stack (less than 40bb) and that I dont have a light 3 bettor on my left.

It seems like a good idea.

This thread isn't exactly what you're looking for, but you should all read #1 on this guy's list (the rest of the thread is pretty good too).

A few things:
- datamine a lot
- sort tables by players/flop
- waitlist at full tables and open tables with less than 6 players
- look for players with a high VPIP (fish)
- try to get on the left of fish with money
- ???
- profit

Re: How do YOU choose tables?

I just started getting picky about what tables I'll play at.

1) I search for any player I've identified as a fish and sit at their table if possible regardless of any other table conditions

2) I like a table with at least 40% of the players seeing the flop.

3) I next look at the avg. pot size. I like playing at a table that has an avg. pot size of at least 20BB or so.

4) The next thing I look at are the stack sizes. I would prefer everyone have at least 80BB, but I'm ok with one person with less than 80BB as long as the others are more than that

5) Once I sit, if after about 10 minutes or so I notice that the table isn't as active as the 1st 2 criteria's indicate, I'll go find another table.

#3 is more of a personal preference for me. I really don't care for tables that have 50% players to the flop but a real low avg. pot. It's not that you can't win at these tables. You can win a ton of small pots. It's just that they are so boring for me to play.
