I think you played it fine. Just very unlucky. You're not going to see AA much there obv. I don't know if I could really find a fold here unless I has a pretty strong read.

villian is a relative standard player, from what i could tell. not trick/trappy, not overaggressive. won most of his chips when his KQ beat AQ aipf

of course when he limps utg i think 'possibly AA'... but i could see him having AThh or some other hand there too.

Re: Is this ever a fold with KK?

Yep. There are many other hands he's going to limp UTG with. ATs-AKs come to mind. I could see a hand like AKs making a play like this, as well as 22-AA (maybe not 22/33) so it's a very difficult laydown. You're not Doyle obv either.

Re: Is this ever a fold with KK?

That is not really a fold with KK because there has not been enough action to deduce that he has AA. Maybe if it went raise re-raise pre-flop and raise re-raise post flop that can be a fold to a set or to aces. Unfortunately in the 28K it is hard to give any credit to any players because it is such a slop-fest. I recently came in second in that and there is no way in that situation that you can ever fold that. Just an unlucky situation for the chip lead more than likely but a good showing never the less.

Why such a big raise pre?

Jaysus. Raise less preflop. You will need to raise it up here with stuff that isn't KK or AA - so it is better to make a smaller raise as standard throughout your entire range. 5000 would be good IMO.

On the flop go broke, standard.

AThh doesn't make us happy about calling either...
