50 NL TAKING A SHOT

I'm a NL10 player and I sometimes play NL25. I have been taking shots at NL50 but always seem to donk off my stack and the scurry back to my lower limit. I do pretty well at NL10 and NL25.Does anyone have any suggestions on or rules as far as taking shots. Maybe a prior post. Anything will help.

When you're OOP and bet out on the turn and get raised, that's bad news for your TP.

tighten up at the front, loosen up at the back (especially on the button).

That's kinda what I tell my gf

OP, I am in a similar situation. I recently took a shot at $50NL, managed to win 6 buy-ins, and then donked it all back to where I started. I am finding the players quite a bit trickier and certainly more aggressive than at $25NL and I started playing back at them and 3-betting a bit light, which lost me a lot of money.

I have moved back down to $25NL to rebuild confidence and BR.

I find 50nl almost comparable to 25nl except that people play a little more aggressive. I find that people at 25nl will often slow play vulnerable hands more often than at 50nl.

I wouldn't make too many adjustments. Normally, you'll just start out thinking yourself and make poor plays.

I agree with this and I think that is why I had a downswing. I wasn't playing the same way as I was on $25NL. It is true that you have to adapt to the more aggressive play, but not to the extent that I was. Solid ABC poker with a few moves every now and again when your tight image will let you should do the trick.
