I got called Stockton at the playground a few hours ago when I dropped a little 12 foot floater in the lane. Probably the highlight of my sactown hoops career. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Stockton.

As a lifelong Pacers fan the thought of Miller in another uniform hurts, but the Pacers are borderline unwatchable at this point anyway.

If Reggie wants to pull a Ray Borque, I'll cheer root for him as hard as ever. The guy played as hard as as could for the whole time he was here, he has earned the right to chase the ring if he so desires.

At least this would get him out of the studio for a year.

Bill Simmonds wrote a column saying the ONLY player ever to shoot better after he turned 34 other than Ray Allen was Reggie Miller.

Might work.

[/ QUOTE ]
That isn't true. After 34 he had one season where his TS% was better than his career average.

As a Knicks fan I hated Reggie, but he was damn good. I don't know what to think about this, since he is 42 and not sure how he will play when/if he comes back.

This is so very very true, especially the part about the Pacers being unwatchable. Jermaine's headed out, so its back to the drawing board.

Reggie is a scorer. He's not a defender at this time unless he's kept himself beyond immaculate shape. He's not quick, he's not an inside guy, but if you need some clutch shooting in the playoffs...well, the jumper probably hasn't gone away. Like tuq said, I just wouldn't want to see this "experiment" sully his legacy in the NBA. Watching him lead the Pacers as contenders was a highlight of my sports life.

I love it when legends come back and try and make it work.

Franco Harris on the Seahawks, Willie Mays with the Mets. LOL.

Gary Payton and Alonzo are about as close as it gets to being done but still trying for one more chance at a ring.
though Mourning is still crazy good with one kidney and being like 40 years old

but like Reggie he was a career player with one team, then he came back with another and that kind of sullied his legacy IMO (see also Jordan, Michael).

[/ QUOTE ]

It might have sullied his legacy, but he was still one of the best 20 players in the league even during his last year (speaking of Jordan). And the Celts have a lot better chance at a Ring than the Wiz did. I don't see the problem with this at all.
