mid/low pairs preflop

This is one of my first posts, trying to find out how to play mediaum and low pairs preflop. I thought it was question of just checking (I come from FL) at least in .02/.04, and wait for the flop. A general rule I heard to an elite player showing how to play microLimits was to cheap call and call a raise if the raiser had a stack at least 10xraise. But hear I'm reading it's actually incorrect not to raise.

I did a lot of searches, like

+"medium pair" +"PF" -"Re: "

but I didn't find a thread treating this topic, but with no success. Is it incorrect to cheap call or Call/Raise?

I put an example of a TT:

#Game No : 6408340893
***** Hand History for Game 6408340893 *****
$5 USD NL Texas Holdem - Saturday, October 13, 10:37:37 ET 2007
Table Table 126341 (Real Money)
Seat 9 is the button
Total number of players : 9
Seat 2: peacolo ( $10.80 USD )
Seat 4: ziggyfilter ( $2.56 USD )
Seat 5: NectO333 ( $6.11 USD )
Seat 6: CJHerman ( $3.71 USD )
Seat 7: BjornWahl ( $4.93 USD )
Seat 8: BGBxxx ( $9.80 USD )
Seat 9: bobifishler ( $2.36 USD )
Seat 10: MikeLi25262 ( $5.45 USD )
Seat 1: Lusopito ( $4.67 USD )
MikeLi25262 posts small blind [ $0.02 USD ].
Lusopito posts big blind [ $0.04 USD ].

Holecards:
Dealt to Lusopito [TT]
CALL peacolo, $0.04 USD
CALL ziggyfilter, $0.04 USD
CALL NectO333, $0.04 USD
CJHerman folds
CALL BjornWahl, $0.04 USD
CALL BGBxxx, $0.04 USD
bobifishler folds
CALL MikeLi25262, $0.02 USD

Should I raise? like $.28?

TT is not a mid PP, it's actually quite strong and you should definitely raise here.

Re: mid/low pairs preflop

In a 6 max game with little chance of light 3-betting raising over the limpers is good with all pairs except maybe 22,33 although some do those too (just my preference). Reasons:

- take down pot pre flop
- take down pot on flop with c-bet
- people more likely to stack off when you make your set and they hit top pair
- Value, your TT is way likely to be the best hand in that scenario you gave

I think I've forgotten the rest of the reasons....

In your scenario, you need to thin the field if you're going to raise. If you think they're all going to call you then don't raise. If you can knock a few pople out then raise a little bit more than pot size $.35 maybe. The worst thing you can do here is raise too little becuase it just sweetens the pot for everyone.

OK, then it's obvious that I have to raise them.

In any position? What if I received my 66 as SB and it comes to me already raised, say like this one. The raiser did it 5xB and from MP. He was a semi looser (38.5 SawFlop% in 13 hands) and I had 2.6 pot odds.

Final Pot:

I suppose I just need more experience, but I'm finding this kind of situations too many times to leave them without a solid solution.

THanks again,

Sorry, I know to use the converters but later I don't know how to post them in the forum.

Simply i'm in the bB with 66. Everybody fold till MP·, who raises 5xB. The B calls. What should I do? I just called but don't think it's a nice idea out of position.
