25NL Question

Is a $500 bankroll big enough for 25NL or should one start out at a lower stake?

Any advice is appreciated.

Re: 25NL Question

$500 is just big enough for 25NL.

Re: 25NL Question

Should be enough, if you have never played before give 10nl a shot until you are winning consistently then move up.
Also, if you start off on a losing streak don't hesitate to drop down.

Re: 25NL Question

I've been playing for a while. I'm just trying to jump over to the NL side and was curious about BR requirements. You said $500 is just enough, so at what point would you drop down to 10NL?

Re: 25NL Question

The guideline is 20BI - so if you drop more than a couple of BI at 25NL I would suggest moving down to 10NL. I would guess that most people in this forum play their level with about 30-35 BI, but 20BI should be enough.

Re: 25NL Question

20 BI is plenty for NL25 *if you are a winning player*.

So would you drop down after losing maybe 5 buyins or so?

Re: 25NL Question

I've played some NL before, but it wasn't my main game. I would sometimes just play 10NL or 25NL for a little break. I'm looking to get more serious into NL, but not exactly sure on where to get started.

Re: 25NL Question

NL10 is a joke and it wouldn't be a bad idea to put a few thousand hands in there first to get acclimated to NL play. If I lost 5 BI's right away at NL25, yes I'd drop down.
