Just Brutal Downswing!!!
 

Well I have been having a fatal 9 days of poker. I have enough Bankroll but I have been brutally suckout for 9 straight days. I'm playing 25nl in bodog poker. MY BR was over 800$ (after I cashout most of it), andnow is about 500$. I have had downswings but not as sick as this one, I haven't double up a single time in 9 days. And been losing just sick. For instance, today I had $45 in a table (25nl) and dealt Aces, I raise 5x the bb, and 2 callers. the flop came A8Q, i check another dude bet the pot the other one call and i called, the turn was a 4 i check again, the other dude bet half the pot and the other raise 3 times his bet so i move all in and the first one fold the other one that raises call! and he had pocket queens, and the river was a Q. he hit 1 outer to hit quads. And I have been suckout like that all this time, my big pocket pairs aren't holding most of the time because they hit me sets (most of the time), and that kind of bad beats.

And 3 days ago i decided to play just 2 tables and be real focus, playing tight and pacient, but it doesn't matter because i fold all sesions waiting for a premium hand and a ridiculous hand busted me.

What is I can do? Any Advice? I thinking cashout everything and play in another site. That will help?

move up to a level you can only min-buy at heads up....then steal BB's until you have rebuilt your roll

mmm i dont have any graph, im a consistent winner played before 50nl and sometimes 100nl, i have for some personal reason cashout everything. mm mjust left 65$ and made 800 and now down to 500, because of bad beats.

Just asking some kind of advice?

seriously though, this is not that bad of a downswing, just take a break for a few days and use the time to review your play.

mmm i took monday, and review my play. I why i said i played just 2 tables now, and very tight, mostly premiums hands, and suitted connectors, and obv pocket pairs, play ABC poker, and focus. But I just took a brutal bad beat, and i dont have any confidence.

Think i will changed of site.

IDC about the money, i said be4, i haven't double up in 9 str8 days, my hands are not holding, constantly having 2 outer suckouts, and in some cases on the river. I'm losing too many pots with premium hands. For instance, yesterday 45off crack my Jacks (floped the nuts str8, although I didnt go broke), afterwards, 34 crack my Queens ( hit trips on the turn and fh on the river) suckouts like that.

That is why im concern!!!

Does anyone else click threads with titles like this hoping that someone is experiencing a worse downswing than you are, even though you know it's just going to be a 12-buyin microstakes downswing?

i bet half the money you are losing is bad beats and the other half is tilt play. take a couple days break and read the small stakes forum(well posts, pooh bah posts etc) then come back and play

This is the best advice. When you go on a bad downswing, use that as incentive to work on your game.

The other thing you can do is what you said already, tighten up and play stronger hands overall. That reduces variance. Stay out of marginal spots, playing out of position, etc.

Don't leave Bodog, though! I doubt you'll find a more profitable place to play.

I guess I wont leave Bodog, because i manage to start with $65 (the only thing left after I cash out) and take it to 800 in 2 weeks.!! i have to reevaluate my game and tighten up more!!!

Check the progression of Jupiter in your chart. Luck is cyclical, and if you figure out your cycles, you will learn when to sit out and when to move up. Most poker players believe personal luck is entirely random and have neglected this area of study. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

LOL, omfg you must be on life tilt right now if you dont even realize it. There is NO WAY you drop 12 BI and are not on tilt, when you said you would tighten up its you are on tilt, if you are destroying NL25 that much why would you ever change something ? TILT !

Btw Tilt doesnt mean shoving ATC prefop, being on tilt means not having the balls to value bet two pair on the river because a runner runner flush draw just got there and you lost to that 5 hands ago.

You are hella dumb just as everyone who says "just get better" or " you clearly suck " in these type threads.

No matter how good you are, everyone is going to hit that brutal downswing, most likely.
Every top online pro after their success have all gone on horrid downswings.
I hope everyone who says "get better" instantly goes on a 50BI downswing, because it is possible. Just like someimtes u can lose a coinflip 8 times in a row? WTF
sometimes ur downswing is going to way way way way way below standard deviation, it will happen aslong as you play enough hands in ur lifetime.

Still a player with a 20ptbb/100 winrate will have less and smaller dowswing than a player who is winning a 1ptbb/100.

I don't necessarily see how you come up with that prediction, why is someone who is a 20PTBB/100 winner necessarily proven to have a smaller downswing? Are they gonna be less hurt cause they pwn the game and probably have 200BI at their level, yes. Does that mean anything about the fact that they could get royally owned for 20BI, no.
