Sunday Mil (530) hand: lost post flop bvb

I didnt really have reads, I haven't been at this table too long. I honestly wasn't sure if I should cbet this flop, it felt weird. Comments on flop bet vs check and river mostly, but all streets appreciated.

i don't mind a limp here pf with stacks. as played fold turn fold river. pf raise puts you in this crappy spot as far as c-betting goes.

Is bet/folding the flop bad?

probably not, but it didnt seem like too good a flop to cbet especially when my hand couldnt take that heat and has some equity still.

on the turn, i felt at the time that i could profitably call even though i prob. could rep a ten...i just felt like after checking flop hed think I was FOS a lot and call me a lot lighter.

On the river (shouldve included this in the OP), he insta-bet. I thought it was most heavily weighted to a ten or air, but he couldve played weak 4's like that which now tripped or occasionally trapping down with a monster. thoughts on that range? thoughts on the insta bet? should we really just c/f turn c/f river?

Most villains bet flop if they have a pair. Your hand looks weak he's repping a ten only and he 1/2 pots so you dont need to be good often I snap call that river bet

I bet this flop and consider shoving if he raises w. what looks like FE

Youve allowed him to play the hand with your cards almost exposed by the time it gets to the turn. That doesnt preclude a bluff on the river, but I think youre too weak to call off 15% more of your stack.

If youre going to raise pf you almost are forced to CB or you turn your pf well above average hand into a bluff. If the stacks are awkward then just complete pf, and consider coming over the top if he raises, especially if youve limp/folded previously.

Adanthar,

the more i explore this line the more i like it. Are you calling turn and/or river as played?
