Exsubmariner ban
 

I just "permabanned" Exsubmariner in the AP thread for being a standard "online = rigged" conspiracy theorist who managed to tell me the following:

In the interest of fairness, I have to confess that I've always thought this guy was worthless in every forum I've seen him in, but he managed to really piss me off with that comment. I don't know how long this ban should be for, so instead, I just perma'd him until/unless some other mod decides to let him back in. Discuss.

What was ban worthy there? I am taking a look at the thread, but it is huge.

edit to add: I read some and he comes off as a little bit of a nut case, but there are a lot of people that feel that way. Do we really want to ban people based on opinions?

Also, I'm sure we don't read the same forums, but I've seen several threads and many posts by exsub that were very good.

the fact that he pretty much called me dirty to my face in the middle of the AP thread of all places basically sums it up. also, extreme mod sass.

Maybe there is a history there or some other context that makes it not so, but on the face of it his statement seems to be correct and doesn't really imply that you are dirty. He only seems to be pointing out that you are personally better off if it is perceived that online poker is on the level making you biased in these matters. I don't see anything wrong with that statement nor what it implies about you.

I don't think people should be banned for posting that online poker is rigged, though if there is trolling along with that it's obviously fine.

meh I guess I overreacted. I just reset it to a day just so I don't have to read his posts for a while. oh well.

I obv don't care, but FWIW, I think that goes completely against the mod attitude Ryan/Mat are trying to foster here.

I am in approval of the ban. Adanthar your reason for banning should be "trolling the same opinion over and over and cluttering important stuff," that fits within the guidelines for acceptable banning.

I think it was a fine banning, given we are being extra strict in the absolute threads to prevent trolling and them being trainwrecked by new posters/conspiracy theories/trolls.
