Extra person charges? 35$? Cant I just lie?

This may be stupid...going to vegas w/ 4 buddies and staying at venetian possibly and i slipped on the phone and said 4 people? They want to charge me 35$/night per extra so +70$/night.

Whats to stop me from just calling and rebooking under a different name/card w/ 2 people and then maybe saying we lost a room key or something to get an extra??

slip the desk person a 20 and ask for a few extra cards, this will probably work.

ya it's stupid to pay extra. You're renting the room, it's not a package deal where its based on double occupancy or quad occupancy. You don't even have to lie about the keys, just tell them you want 4 keys.Usually when I travel alone to a heotel ,they ask me how many keys I want.

Don't pay. Tell them two people, and when you show up ask for four keys. If you feel weird about it, ask for two then go back and ask for two more.

Definitely don't pay extra.

Do poker players lie?

Unless you're asking for a cot, you should have no problem getting more keys.

Also, you said you're going with 4 buddies and yet only have 4 people in the room? Is there a solution in the middle you're not thinking of?

Good point, usually keys aren't a point of concern at the desk. Now if you ask for a cot or something like that, it might raise eyebrowls, but keys shouldn't be an issue. I am going with 3 other people to AC in december and just told them two and just planned on asking for another key.
