Haven't played it much yet, so I can't say how good it is or isn't, but there's a NL headsup bot you can play against here, which won the 2007 AAAI Computer Poker Competition. So it should be better than the average poker video game anyway.

DON'T OPEN THE LINK. Your computer will EXPLODE. Trust me I've seen it many times, I'm an expert in this area (links that make computers explode).

btw I wish I could play NLCASH against this bot all day, I'd be rollin in it. I managed to get down to it by playing like a moron but when I tried to win I ground 3 buyins pretty easily. I got the 3rd buyin when it raised, I reraised and it repopped me allin. I had AA and it had QQ. 2 hands later It 3bet me and I called and then it shoved like 150 into a 40 pot on the flop. It hadn't made an overbet like this ever prior to this, I think it was on tilt :P

It seems very easy to run it over with selective aggression - but as a beginning learning tool i like it.

I dunno, maybe i just ran well, but at 100bbs it seems pretty sucky. But ive played worse actual people so i dunno, all things are relative i guess.

If it game selected, or you selected for it - i suspect it could beat the low stakes HU cash games. Im pretty glad that they havent released it as a download for someone to backward engineer.

My impression also, it was way too easy to run over. I started raising every hand preflop, then if called I'd c-bet the flop, and if it still stayed in I'd give it credit for having a hand. I think I could win against it that way without ever looking at my cards. The thing is, it doesn't keep track of your playing style (or I don't think it does), so once you find a winning formula that's it, you win forever.

Yeah, it didn't do well v half pot every street in pos.

It made weird blocking bets a lot too (like $4 into 24 on the river), which is kind of interesting. I wonder if there is any way that is a viable strategy.

So here is my system for outsmarting the world champion bluffbot, and by extension any and all of the most dangerous robots in the robot house. The first rule of robot warfare is: Never look at your cards, or the board cards either. They are a trick of the robots to confuse you. Initiate battle against the bluffbot with a 100xBB (medium stack) buyin.

Small Blind Strategy
Preflop: Bet the pot. If reraised, fold.
Flop: If bluffbot bets, fold. If checked to, bet half pot.
Turn: If bluffbot bets, fold. If checked to, check.
River: If bluffbot bets 1/3 the pot or less, call. If bluffbot bets more than that, fold. If checked to, bet half pot. If reraised, fold.

Big Blind Strategy
Preflop: If bluffbot raises, fold. If bluffbot limps, bet the pot. If bluffbot reraises, fold.
Flop: Bet half the pot. If bluffbot reraises, fold.
Turn: Check. If bluffbot bets, fold.
River: Bet half the pot. If bluffbot reraises, fold.

Eventually you'll get bluffbot down to a stack of 100 or less, at that point just push all-in every hand because you'll be really bored by then and want to get it over with. Also reraise all-in if bluffbot raises, but don't call any all-ins. If instead you get down to 100 or less, you will also be really bored by then so use the all-in strategy there too. This was the hand where I finished off the bluffbot.
