Borgata NL 2/5 - Flop jointed straight in limped pot

Saturday night at Borgata. NL 2/5, about half of the players have at least $800 stacks. I just sat down and this is my first hand. I don't frequent Borgata and don't know any of these players.

I'm in the BB with 8 5 offsuit (I don't remember the suits). I have $450 behind.

Several players limp, don't remember exactly how many but probably fix or six limpers. I check my BB.

Flop comes 6 7 9 rainbow.

I check. MP player bets $25. Late position player raises to $75. Action is back to me. What should I do?

Sorry I don't remeber the suits, but since the flop was a rainbow, I don't think it is too relevant.

Throw your cards in the air and run the other way because you put an option for folding the stone nuts in your poll.

Raise, durr.

8 T is the stone nuts, but whatever. Raise and call a push

Effen, I'd like to play in your game.

I didn't actually read your content, I just saw the title and then poll options for folding. "flop the joint" or thereabouts means getting the stone nuts to me.

You still should have 1) bet, and 2) obv raised as played.

Perhaps my terminology is wrong. I'm familiar with Cloutier's "I flopped the joint" line, but I always called a straight like this "jointed". Is there another term? Probably, but I can't think of it right now.

b/3b this flop for $25.

as played? i guess i raise to $225/call (not folding with 1/2 our stack in, with the 2nd nuts, in a live game). but b/3b is so so sos sosososossosoos sososos much better

Raise to $200 and fold to a push.

[/ QUOTE ]
This is clearly optimal.
