Seattle/Shorline B&M: The Darkman

For all Parkers or former Hideaway regulars, I think we should have a Darkman appreciation thread. How cool is this dude? I will post pics and stories later but I just wanted to get the ball rolling in case there are others here with experiences of this living legend of NW B&M limit hold em.

If it's THE darkman (played with him at Tulalip) he's def. a beast. Wont chop his BB but even takes his anger out when it's his SB. Best (worst?) memory is a pot where he called a potsized raise on a J789 with Q4 (i had J5 at best)
River is a T for a jack high straight on board. He bets his last $40 into the $90 pot and i call and was annoyed to say the least. He usually seemed to lose all winnings back though from what i saw

This guy is awesome. Every time he's at the table, this exchange seems to take place several times:

Darkman: "I raise in the dark."
Other player: "No you didn't - I just saw you look at your cards!"
Darkman: "I started to look at them, but then I didn't."

Although I gotta say it cracked me up when out of the blue he told this little story..

"I remember when grandaddy Dark took me on his knee, and he told me 'Darkboy, you don't say "whoa" in a mudpit!'"

"Win one, dark one it's the code of the west"

I'm ashamed to admit I didn't realize he actually always looked at his cards when he "bet in the dark" the first time I played against him. I was like wow, he just happened to have AQ there.

I am going to put together a more comprehensive post but the other night he busted out one of his signature, "God's name isn't damn." Someone at the table very familar with the Darkman said, "Well if it aint damn then what the [censored] is it?" He said, "Jehovah Gyro." Everyone laughs (had to be there), he stays totally straight faced and eats another bowl of raw vegetables.

The key feature His Darkness is of course his 90% vpip and 50% WTSD. But that isn't what makes him such an animal.

I'm not familiar with Darkman, but is Dean still around? Haven't been to Hideaway in a couple years, but back then, Dean was a PITA to everyone there.

Mario is another funny one, "I'M ON TILT!"

random Darkman recolections:

"Win one, dark one"
Best Poker Face ever
"D" on his hat
Dark jacket and Dark wrap-around blue blockers
Large piles of unstacked chips
me thinking: "what does this guy really do for a living"

and... yeah...I admit it's tough to know when he actually looks, vs when he has AA and knows it.

Hahaha I started laughing in the office when I saw this thread. We have to get a picture of him next time we're at Parker's.

Oh the darkness also smokes the marijuana pretty heavily. Which gives in interesting contrast to his apparent fundamentalist christianity. What a guy.
