I don\'t feel like waiting until tomorrow night- NFL POWER RANKINGS
Lets just assume that Dallas beats Buffalo by about 10 points like the line says.....
Tier #1: The top two 1a. NE 1b. Indy Yes, I know its a cop out but neither team deserves to be called second best right now. Tier #2: Legit Contenders 3. Dallas 4. Pitt 5. Tennessee 6. Washington 7. Green Bay 8. Jacksonville Dallas and Pitt are probably concensus. After that I thnk the next 4 teams are fairly interchangable. Many probably aren't as high on Tennessee, but consider that they've won 9 out of their last 11 games with their only losses being to NE and Indy. The other 3 teams are all have just one loss and could easily be undefeated. As I said, pretty interchangeable and I won't dispute anyone who has them in a slightly different order. Tier #3: Hopeful Contenders 9. Tampa Bay 10. New York Giants 11. Baltimore 12. Arizona 13. Houston 14. Seattle 15. San Diego San Diego sneaks into this tier due to their impressive performance this week. Arizona could honestly be 0-5 or 5-0...pretty crazy. The Giants have really come out of nowhere to turn their season around. Some wouldn't have them this high, but when you consider that they've played 3 teams in tier #2, their 3-2 record looks a lot better. Similarily, Tampa has just lost to Indy and at Seattle. Tier #4: Muddled Middle 16. Carolina 17. Detroit 18. Oakland 19. Cleveland 20. Chicago 21. Denver 22. KC 23. SF 24. Cincy 25. Philly 26. NY Jets 27. Buffalo 28. Minnesota 29. Atlanta This tier is always nearly impossible to rank. I can't really give Carolina too much credit considering their wins are over St Louis, ATlanta, and New Orleans. To be honest, out of this tier I actually think Oakland has the best shot of making something with their season. They will move up big if they beat San Diego next week. Tier #5: The winless 30. New Orleans 31. Mimami 32. St Louis Not worthy to comment on. |

I still believe Philly will turn things around. I'm probably ranking Detroit much lower than you. Agree on Tenn.

I'll admit that I only had Detroit there because I couldn't justify putting them behind Oakland since they have a better record and won in Oakland.
Philly and Cincy are my two highest ranked one-win teams, which means that I do agree with you that either of them could turn it around. But at this point I simply can't rank them any higher based upon their results, especially that horrendous performance against the Giants last week. |
Re: I don\'t feel like waiting until tomorrow night- NFL POWER RANKINGS
5 of your top ten teams are NFC. 9 of top 17. I thought the consensus was that AFC>>>>NFC. the NFC is 9-12 vs. AFC, but the NFC South has a 1-6 record, the West; 2-4.

I'm able to rationalize that philly had 4 probowlers and 5 starters on the sidelines for that game. See, I've got some preseason money on Phil, so it is so hard to believe I made a mistake.

I am also curious about pitt. Their PA/PF is awesome, but this is their schedule to date:
Cle Buf SF Sea Ari (loss) Those teams are a combined 8-11, though I guess that means they are 7-7 in games which don't include pitt. |
