Does anyone know the formula for a pot size raise? Isn't it something like villains bet X 3 plus the dead money? Is this close enough?

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
Ok guys. I am a newbie to this particular forum. Be easy on me but I think this is where this should go.
I have been playing online for the past 3 years or so. Largely a break even player until I won a 10K guarantee at Bodog awhile back. I never, ever, played cash. Always donkaments and SNGs. So last week I decided I would get an account on FTP with rakeback and really try to make some money playing cash. I read through all the stickies here and have read quite a few books. I think I have a good grasp of the basics but am sure I am missing a ton of things. Here are my first 5K hands. Feedback is appreciated. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...esMSU/5000.jpg |
Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
MBP - just keep doing what you're doing. Tight, aggressive, winning a lot of pots. Maybe try to open up more on the button and get your Attempt to Steal up to 30%, but everything else looks good.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
Also be a little tighter in the SB and make sure you are getting value on the river. Your river AF could be higher.
|
Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
Are PMs not working at the moment? The last few that I've sent didn't show up in my sent messages section and received no reply. Just wondering if that facility was down or if people just don't want to talk to me.

I feel like I open a ton of pots already but will really try to open more pots from the button. What is a good number for the SB? I raise limpers and 3 bet loose raisers a lot from the blinds with hands like A10, AJ, 88-10,10. Is that a leak? I would say I get folds 70+% of the time. I have noticed I lose a ton of value on the river. I am checking back or check/calling middle pair type hands too much I think. I will keep on reading and trying to straighten that out. Thanks. |
